Round Two

We just received word today that we have been accepted back into AWAA's Ethiopia program for a second adoption. This time we are looking for an older male child (2-5 years) with special needs. This would include a child who is HIV+.

(Not that you couldn't tell from the tone of my last posts :-)

We are VERY excited about our second adoption. Of course the second time around we've learned how to temper our excitement with realistic expectations. We expect this second adoption could take another year and a half to two years to complete.

Congratulations Jen! Wow, you are going on another adoption journey already. We can't wait to watch and see how the Lord provides for your family!

Yes, Stacey. The Lord has really blessed our family and our transistion w/ Jonas. We have always known we would be going for two sons. It's imprtant to us that our sons share the cultural & racial connection with another member of their immediate family. Also, we think having two boys close in age would be beneficial for them as playmates and would serve to strengthen their bond with each other.

I just found your blog from your intro on Just Love coffees. We are also adopting from Ethiopia. We are officially on the waiting list as of July 22. I am just curious why your time line is out so far. We are with CHS whose time line typically is out longer than most agencies and we are looking at 12-18 months.

I am learning alot from your AIDS info on your blog. Thanks for posting all the info!

looking forward to getting to know you a bit more from your blog and following your journey!
Blessings,
Tricia ♥

HI Tricia, So glad to "meet" you. Because we are seeking an HIV+ child there are more bureaucratic hoops to jump through which could potentially lengthen the process for us.

I read that on your blog that there are more hoops to jump through with an hiv+ kiddo. Can't imagine more bureaucratic hoops! Bless your heart!

We will pray for you all as you work your way through it all! We could end up in Ethiopia at the same time! We are adopting a sibling group of 2-4 kiddos ages 0-60 months old, but I think that we will be back to Ethiopia to adopt again, as well!

Blessings to you! ♥

Hi Jen,

I am thanking God for your faithfulness and obedience to Him! VERY exciting news! This process will no doubt be challenging I'm sure but obedience always leads to blessing and I cannot wait to hear how God blesses your family through adoption #2!

Love In Christ,
Dana
