"Uncle Jimmy is a hero," my oldest daughter loves to say whenever we mention his name.
"He's in Iwack" the youngest one chimes in while her middle sister smiles ear to ear.
You just ask our girls and they'll tell you all about their soldier uncle.
Ask me and Dustin and we'd tell you about him, and other wonderful people we've been blessed to know who have served or are serving our country faithfully. Today we celebrate and honor them. Today our prayer is simple. Lord, thank you for our freedom and the people who have sacrificed to make sure we have it. Bless and protect our troops. Amen.

I'm so thankful for those men and women who put their lives on the line each and every day for the rest of us! Thanks for honoring them today Jen.
My own son, Brad, has been a Marine for 20 years ... retiring just last week. He spent time on a ship during Desert Storm, and then on Guam shortly after 9/11 as part of Homeland Security's Pacific watch. I LOVED seeing him in his uniform; so proud I often wept. Then there was my Uncle Elmer, a World War I vet that passed many years ago, but not before impacting my young life with his love of country.
What a wonderful country this is because of our service men & women. God bless them, one and all!
Kathleen
AMEN
