Home Sweet Home

I had to delete all the posts I tried to make from Addis. My blog has been acting funny. Hopefully deleting them will fix things.

I just hopped on to tell everyone we made it home safely after having major trouble with a cancelled flight out of DC. We flew to Minn and then to Phx and arrived late last night. It was grueling but we were SO relieved to be home. Jonas is well. He's sleeping right now in fact.

I am SICK today. I slept until 2pm. Woke up feeling very flu-like and having some GI upset. We're all being very lazy and enjoying each other. Dustin is taking great care of me and the baby ;-)

To all our friends, I will call you this week. I just need to recover and feel better! It was a wonderful trip yet a LONG trip. I had a great last week in Addis so it's pretty disappointing to arrive home and be sick. The baby is sick too. He's had the classic orphanage diarrhea and he's extremely congested. He goes to the doc Tues. I go Wed (?), I think.

........A full account of the trip including photos and video to follow.

Welcome home. Our flight from DC was canceled as well when we travel. No fun. I will pray for you that you will feel better soon and for Jonas as well.

So thankful for such a great trip...and that you're all home safe & sound. Kevin had to take care of me & Abel when we got home...I count it as a miracle that we made it all the way home considering both of us were sick. It took us about 2 weeks to get Abel all better (respiratory infection & the whole shibang) and on a good sleep schedule. Then another month of really settling. The 3 & 6 months home were both big milestones. Things clicked or changed at those points...though it's a day-by-day thing...there was a noticeable difference at those points.

Anyway, wishing you all a speedy recovery and transition to life at home! Looking forward to hearing all about your trip & seeing the photos (I didn't see the photo posts & I'm sure I just checked like two days ago). So...looking forward to it and I hope we'll get to meet you all in person on one of our Phoenix trips!

Love,
Erica

Jen,
I'm so sorry you're sick and yet so happy you're home safe with Jonas. It sounds like so many people are fighting sickness. I hope it goes quickly and that, if you're not better by then, the doctor will have something great to help! I'm so excited to read and see more of your trip.

Blessings,
Danielle

I am more than excited about the fact that you're home! I cannot wait to meet Jonas and welcome him home. I can only imagine the fun the girls are having with their new brother.

Hang in there and feel better soon. Let me know if you need anything at all!

Hey Jen - I have some Maalox for you if you want me to bring it over?? :)
We so enjoyed spending the trip with you guys. Praying for all of you, which is becoming a pattern I guess, but that's a great thing!
Noah is puking in bed all day today too, so I can empathize a little with you. B is still having a rough time, so pray for her if you have the strength.
Tell D hi for me.
